Hello Wayfarers!
The cold coat of winter has settled on our shoulders (brrr—at least in Montreal ^^) let’s take stock: The entire Inkplot team is working hard to finish the project - and on many fronts we are nearing the end. Two teams, an English-speaking and a French-speaking, gave their feedback about the new campaign, and on a central point, their opinions converged. They want: More Magic More Changes of Scenery More Storyteller Tools More Background Material to truly bring Peronia and Leannaros to life
And to answer these points we decided to give the people what they need - so must take up the pen and expand the book.
This leads to the inevitable question: whether it is better to respect our commitment to provide the best possible product or respect our wish to deliver by the end of the year? While tough, I really think quality is more important.
However this won’t be a long delay - the project PDF deliverable will only be postponed by a short month - we aimed to deliver the book to you digitally at the end of December, and with these additions, it will arrive by the end of January 2025.
The rest of the team moves forward proudly. The translation/proofreading of course, but also for Karl, who has completed the essential illustrations (that breathe visual life into the campaign throughout the book). He will now have free rein to his imagination to enrich the book even further given our additions!
As a small sample, here is the piece that opens the second part of the campaign
This is the column of yellow sand presented in the Guide to the Vales. But it's supposed to be in Leannaros? So why did he draw it in the middle of the desert…? (If you're a player, don't worry, there isn't enough information in this post to spoil you. ^^)
Le froid manteau de l'hiver se pose sur nos épaules (en tout cas à Montréal ^^) alors que nous faisons le bilan.
Toute l'équipe de Inkplot travaille d'arrache-pied pour finir le projet - et sur beaucoup de fronts on touche à la fin.
Deux équipes, une anglophone et une francophone (merci à Kakad et sa joyeuse équipe !), ont fait leur retour sur la nouvelle campagne, et sur un point central leurs avis convergent : il faut plus de magie, plus de dépaysement, plus d'outils pour le conteur, plus de matière pour lui permettre de faire vivre vraiment la Péronie et Leannaros. Et pour répondre à ce point il faut reprendre la plume et étoffer le livre.
Et à la question de savoir s'il vaut mieux respecter notre engagement de fournir le meilleur produit possible, ou respecter notre vœu de livrer pour la fin de l'année, je pense vraiment que la qualité est plus importante. Le projet va donc se décaler d'un petit mois - on visait de vous livrer le livre en numérique fin Décembre, ce sera plutôt fin Janvier.
Le reste de l'équipe avance fièrement. La traduction / relecture bien sûr, mais aussi Karl, qui a terminé la passe des illustrations essentielles (celles qui expliquent la campagne), et va maintenant laisser libre cours à son imagination pour enrichir le livre.
Et voici la pièce qui ouvre la seconde partie de la campagne.
C'est la colonne de sable jaune présentée dans le Guide des Vallées. Mais elle est censée être à Leannaros ? Pourquoi l'a-t-il dessinée en plein désert ? (Si vous êtes joueur, ne vous inquiétez pas, il n'y a pas assez d'informations dans ce billet pour vous spoiler. ^^)

Greetings wayfarers!
General progress The proofreading of Guide to the Vales is done at 70%. A progress slower than expected, real life events got in the way. But it resumed and will be done in time.
The writing of Favorable Skies was done, but one thing led to another and we decided to add a quite significant new part at the end of the campaign, a way to open up to more adventures or to make the last part of the campaign longer, depending on our taste.
Along with this writing work, the playtests are running for the new subclasses.
On the art side, November should be a busy month, and we'll certainly have illustrations to share.
Early December, we should also have the book online, for those who wish to help us with proof reading, the same way we did the last time.
And busy as we were with writing and testing, we kinda forgot about charging the cards; it will be done this week.

Écriture, écriture et écriture (et tests aussi !)

Progrès général L'écriture de Cieux Favorables était terminée quand, devant le produit final, on a senti qu'il y avait une opportunité de rajouter un gros morceau, très particulier, à la fin de la campagne, pour ouvrir sur de nouvelles aventures ou par rallonger la campagne, selon le goût du maître de jeu et de ses joueurs. On est donc reparti sur un peu d'écriture.
A côté de ce travail d'écriture de la campagne, les parties de tests avec les nouveaux archétypes continuent. (C'est un travail très chronophage)
En ce qui concerne les illustrations, c'est le mois de Novembre qui va être très productif, et il y aura certainement des dessins à partager.
Début Décembre, comme nous l'avions fait pour le premier livre, le texte sera disponible en ligne pour ceux qui ont le courage et l'envie de nous aider avec une ultime chasse aux coquilles.
(Occupés par l'écriture, nous avons oublié de procéder au paiement des cartes; ce sera fait dans le courant de la semaine).

Excellence in English Part of making Exalted Vales into a series of books also meant reviewing the original book in the series, now titled Guide to the Vales. Enter: Dee. Our proofreader for Favorable Skies and the 2nd edition of Exalted Vales, Guide to the Vales. As a longtime player and dungeon master for Dungeons & Dragons, she brings with her a vast amount of knowledge and experience (along with a very particular fine eye for details!).
Throughout the Kickstarter campaign, Dee has been tough at work addressing, updating and re-reviewing to bring Guide to the Vales to the best it can be, and the changes definitely show. In many places, we were actually looking at full copy-editing, rather than basic proofreading, in order to bring Guide to the Vales up to the quality we know you all deserve.
General progress The proofreading of Guide to the Vales is done at 50%. The writing of Favorable Skies is done at 90%. Concept arts are turning into illustrations (we'll share some of them along the way). We're really confident we'll - as planned - finish everything before the end of the year!

Wayfarers, we did it!
Thank you to each and every one of you for backing our project and making Favorable Skies and the 2nd edition of Guide to the Vales an amazing reality.
It's been a busy four weeks and we're glad you came along for the ride!
So What's Next?
For now, we'll be taking a few days to recover from the excitement and then will be posting updates as we enter each new phase of the design and production process. Kickstarter will begin collecting funds and this should be finalized within the next 10 days. If you experience any trouble, please reach out to us to let us know so we can follow up with you. Just a quick update here as it's been a whirlwind of activity in these last 48 hours: - We've smashed through our 65k stretch goal for new Feats shortly after our last update - We are now sitting just under 6k from our last stretch goal for the Ranger archetype, Child of the Stars
